Anyone remember BBS's? They were the ORIGINAL on-line service! Sometimes with a top speed of 2400 baud (an old term for bps), so slow you could watch basic ASCII text scroll on the screen a few lines at a time.

Well, my friend and I thought to ourselves, "There has to be a way to put an old-school BBS up on the net..." After a bit of research, I found that it can be done, and quite simply as well! The answer was Telnet, an archaic branch of the Internet unused by the vast majority of the on-line community.

And with the wonders of modern technology, a once world class BBS - one with dozens of nodes, e-mail, newsgroup access, many door games - can now be run with almost no effort. And fuck all the old time limits, credit ratios, and all the other bothers of old style BBS's, this one will be 100% free! And don't worry if you've never used one before, you can access a BBS right through your web browser!

Rather than go through all the trouble of setting up a BBS that no-one will use, I've decided to open up a voting booth. If you'd like to see an old style BBS with all the games and whatnot, lemme know!

Welcome to the Skompton homepage, the headquarters of the Skompton Crew. This is one useless ass page... We're here to bring you the lives of the Skompton Crew, coming from the north side of Chi-Town, Ill-State.

Right now this page is nothing but some pics of us in various states of insobriety... There'll be more to come as time goes on, and it's sure to be just as, if not more, useless than what's already on here.

We're gonna have submissions of all sorts from the Skompton kids who have gone abroad. We're gonna put up faux-news articles as well. They'll be reports on all the crap we feel is important enough to share with all of you, as well as the unimportant crap that we feel you should do/try/consume.

This is 'Virtual Skompton v0.9b', with v1.0 to come soon. It will be basically the same page with some Java, more content, and perhaps some Flash as well.
